Original Obi Tying

Original Obi Tying ①

1.Wrap around your waist twist and tie with the tesaki placed on top.

2. Fold the other end (tare) to double thickness lengthwise, the second thickness being a little shorter than the first one.

3.Pinch the center vertically to make a bow shape.

4.Fold the tesaki in half widthwise and wind it over the bow twice, pulling tight.

5.Roll up the remaining fabric and tuck it behind the wrapped obi. Then simply adjust the shape to finish.

 

Original Obi Tying ②

1.Wrap around your waist twice keeping 60cm from one end of the obi for the tesaki. Then tie with the tesaki placed on top.

2.Fold the tesaki in half widthwise and make a first hane so that the bottom part of the tesaki (wa) comes to the right.

3.Fold up the end of the tare diagonally to the left to make a small hane and fold down.

4.Make a third hane longer than the second one from the remaining part of the tare.

5.Tie a triple string above the first hane.

6.Put the hane down to hide the string. Then simply adjust the shape to finish.
